The National VA Council invites you to participate in a Live VA Psychologist Listening Forum on Tuesday, September 15, at 7:30 EDT. This is an important opportunity for you to speak directly about what is happening at your facility and how current policies are affecting your occupation.

In this short training series, you will learn how best to respond to proposed disciplinary actions issued pursuant to Chapter 43 (performance only) and Chapter 75 (misconduct and/or performance). Responses may be given written and/or orally and we will discuss the advantages of each, including relevant requirements under the MCBA and VA policy. We will discuss how to address all of the charges presented, review affirmative defenses, mitigating and aggravating factors ("Douglas factors"), and how to notify the deciding official of any missing or disputed facts from the evidence file. We will also discuss the timelines for the response.
